Austin Trip

Paul David and I tagged along with Paul to Austin on Wednesday. We got to stay at the Four Seasons, and they had the prettiest landscaping. When you went out the back, they had steps that led down to the lake. On the lake was a pier with tons of ducks. The pier looked right at the Congress Street Bridge where the bats fly out every night.

Before we went to eat dinner, we wandered around the lake:

I was starving, and I had always heard that TGI Fridays was a great place to watch the bats, so off we went!

The bats FINALLY flew around 8:00:

It was still amazing even though it's really not the season for them. When it's warm out, there are around 12 million that fly!

Thursday morning, we had some time to kill, so we went back down to the lake. A sweet girl that worked at the hotel got us a piece of bread from the restaurant to feed the ducks.

After our duck feeding, we went to the Austin Children's Museum. My new membership to the one in Houston was good for this one, too!

They had fish:

And the theme was...guess...TRANSPORTATION...that means TRAINS:

After our fun trip to the museum, we met up with Daddy and all headed to Salt Lick for lunch. YUMMY!
What a fun middle of the week get away!
