Julie's 40th Birthday

My friend Julie that I taught Kindergarten with for 6 years, turned 40 in May. She had a Crawfish Bowl Birthday Party, and Paul and I got to go without kids! We had a BLAST! We both love crawfish, and we both love Julie:)

Here's me with her son, Preston! He's 16 now, but I had him when he was in Kindergarten. He was in my second class, and also in the class I was teaching when I met Paul! Julie went into labor the NIGHT I met Paul! She had Ellee on May 18th, 2002 so I always remember that I met Paul on May 17th because of her (and now Lily's) birthdays...or do I remember their birthdays because of it being the day after I met Paul...hmmm! Anyway, here's me with Preston:

I was Miss Lovett when I had him in class, but he calls me Mrs. Legoudes. Such good manners. I heard him telling one of his buddies that I was his Kindergarten teacher and that I taught him his letters and sounds and how to count! HA! I had to correct him...I actually didn't have to teach him any of that stuff! He's one of the smartest kids I taught! I told him that I taught him how to use a Glossery and Index because all he would read was Non Fiction books! He was all into Star Wars and bridges...very cool kid:)

Here's Paul chowing down on some Mudbugs...YUM!

Happy Birthday Julie!

Happy 5th Birthday, Lily!

Lily turned 5 this last week, and her Hello Kitty party was on Saturday! It was a swim party, so everyone was super tired and had a super fun time!

The Aquarium

We'd been going back and forth for awhile about getting an aquarium. Then, one day Paul David's teachers told us that they were talking about everyones' pets. When they asked Paul David if he had a cat or a dog, he replied, "No, we're fish people!" So, we finally decided to o"fish"ally become FISH PEOPLE!

The Parrot Fish that I picked out...there's two of them:

Ever since the first feeding, any time you walk up to the tank, they all come to you! It's hilarious how they've already got personalities!

So, there are Yellow Labs, African Clownfish, Red Zebras, Rainbow Sharks, Tiger Barbs, Red Parrot, Blue Kenyas and there's one German Red Peacock that's the biggest, but REALLY shy! There's 31 fish in all!

We got 5 of most of the little fish (10 of the Tiger Barbs-they were cheap) so that they'll breed! Supposedly, they'll put their babies in the holes in the white stones until they hatch so that none of the bigger fish eat them! Super cool! There's only two of the Blue Kenya's, too...they're going to turn yellow if they're male, so that should be interesting!

As I anticipated, I hear "Mama, FISH" all day long! Then Paul David says "Rainbow Shark" every time he sees one of those. Now, we all get excited when the Big Fish comes out!

So far, we're LOVING the fish! I think they're perfect pets for us!

Mother's Day Gifts

Paul David brought home this adorable Plant for me for Mother's Day from Preschool. It was blooming when I got it, and I've watered it, but now, it looks like this:

The little Paul David flower is still blooming:

This is probably my favorite...

He wrote his name on it...oh, his name...I sure hope the teachers next year can help that along! It's SO super cute right now though that I do not want to change it!

On the inside was a fill in the blank about me:
My Mom's name is: Candice
She is 6 years old! (HA...and the funny thing is that we'd been playing Doctor's Office, and he'd asked me how many numbers I was about 10 times that week!)
She had PURPLE eyes! (Ummm...)
Her favorite food is SALAD (Ummm...I do eat it for lunch a lot, but we all know my favorite food is CHUY'S)
I love my Mommy because: I LOVE HER SO MUCH!

He's just the SWEETEST thing to me!

Judson's FIrst Haircut!

For months, we had been talking about getting Judson's hair cut! There was a time when I was just against cutting his hair, but then, it grew out some more and the tangles began. I guess you could even say they were rat nests. It finally got to the point that I was sooooo ready to get his hair cut. I remember getting to that point with Paul David's hair as well! Anyway, this past Saturday was THE DAY! I had gotten a sweet Groupon for Snip-Its, so we made it an event!

Paul David even got one, too! He SO needed it! For weeks, I've been saying, "Who needs a hair cut?" and Paul David would say, "ME, ME!" He knows now when it hurts to comb his hair, it's time!

Here's Paul David BEFORE:

Judson BEFORE:
Being the Best Big Brother EVER, Paul David went first to show Judson that it was no big deal!
Paul David AFTER...so much better!
Judson up in the chair! He never made a single peep about being up there. He knew he was going to get a sucker at the end, so he just sat there waiting. He was ADORABLE!
The First Snip:
The back after she'd made the initial cut...she got out the clippers next:
She would say, Tickle, Tickle, Tickle...he thought it was pretty funny:
Then, he didn't think it was funny:
At one point, I noticed his little hands:
AFTER...so cute:

Here are some shots of the side...

And back because that's where you can really see the difference!

I thought I'd be really sad and that Judson wouldn't look like a baby anymore, but I think I was so over the tangles and fights about combing his hair that I LOVE IT! It's so easy, and I think he still looks like my Baby! Just maybe a Little Man Baby:)

Zoo Day with the Piks

Friday, we FINALLY got to meet up with our favorite friends the Piks at the zoo! We had a few minutes before meeting them to check out the ducks and birds at the Pond:

The first place we went were the Monkeys!
Two of our Monkeys:
And the Two Little Monkeys:

These two could be twins from the back:

The best picture of the 4 of them:

These two boys are so cute together and such good friends:

The drums are always a big hit, and there wasn't anyone else there to get in our way...YAY:

Before we went in the snake house:

In the tunnel at the Natural Wonders House...Judson's FAVORITE:

Also in the Natural Wonders House, they have these new fish whose eyes are above the water...so cool and the picture really doesn't do it justice:

Finally, we rode the train:

I can't even tell you how much fun we always have with the Piks! How lucky are we that we live close enough to spend time together and our kids are growing up as friends? I love it!
