Harleton in July

This last Friday, July 26th, we spent the weekend in Harleton with Nana and Papa and the Cousins!

Slumber Party with Nana Friday Night!

We tried to go to the Balloon Races Competition on Saturday morning, but the weather was iffy, so they cancelled it:(  Bummer!
Instead, we went to breakfast at Chick Fil A, then Wal-Mart and Dollar Tree shopping for Kendall's Beach Birthday Party coming up in a couple of weeks!

At Dollar Tree, the kids talked us into Silly String...

Barry had a box of old baseball helmets and this football helmet in his shop that he didn't want anymore, so I took them!
Paul David was in heaven with this football helmet!
He wore it most of the afternoon and showed Kendall and Judson some of the things he learned in Flag Football Camp!

Then, he wanted me to take some pictures of him with the helmet...

Quarterback Pose:
 With it on:
 Mad Pose:
 Running Back Pose:
Those were the names he gave the poses:)

Oh, Judson, how cute are YOU?
 Turkey Head:
Sweet Kendall...hard to believe she's about to be SEVEN!!!!!
Always a super fun time!!!!

He Flips

One day last week, Paul David came to me while we were swimming and said, "I flipped in the pool!"  and I was like, yeah, you do that all the time...turn a flip underwater!  He says, "No I flipped INTO the pool!"  SAY WHAT!!!

And so he did...and Now, he FLIPS!

Thank you 8 weeks of gymnastics!!!!

And of course, little brother was trying, too...

Just not quite there...

Galveston, Oh Galveston

Since our beach vacation last summer, we've been saying that we should take the boys down to Galveston for the day!  It's so close, and well, it's not Florida, but it is the ocean and the beach...

So last Sunday, we had a free day and decided to head down.  Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate with us:(  As soon as we got to the beach and parked, it started raining.  So, we decided to do an activity and see if the weather channel app was right and it would clear out by lunch!

We drove to the East End of the Island and rode the Ferry to Boliver!

The boys thought it was AWESOME!!!!!

And guess what...we saw Dolphins...for FREE!  We paid a lot of money to see those in Florida!
The boys thought it was Very, Very Cool that we got to drive our van on to the boat!
Paul David watching a passing Ferry Boat:
And back in the car with our windblown hair dos!
So after about 3 hours, we made it back to the West End to go to the beach...but it was still looked like the skies were about to bust!

We parked at the end of the Seawall, and walked down to the beach...
Judson was Not so sure...he actually turned around at one point and said, "Where's the Beach!"  HA!

This guy, though, was in PURE HEAVEN!!!!!!

Judson decided to put his toes in a little, but still not sure...
He would happily run back to me!

He got a little braver once Justin came out there with them!

They had FUN running around and acting crazy!

Then, it started raining pretty hard, and I put the camera away:(
They played for about 30-45 minutes, then Paul David said he was done, and I was happy he was!  I was wet from the rain and cold!

We changed their clothes and headed to Whataburger to eat a really late lunch!
It was a bust for the adults because I had dreams of sitting under the tent listening to the waves crash and talking and watching the kids play...maybe next time!  The kids though...had a great time!

Astros Game On July 19th

Judson wanted to sit on the Baseball when we walked up, then when he got on it, he said, "Take my picture!"
So we took Brother's Picture, too!
Ya'll, this face is SO JUDSON!
I seriously want to compile all the many faces of this child!
He really is a hoot!
Paul David is amazing at keeping score during the games.
If we went more, I think he'd have the whole thing figured out in no time!
The cutest part is that all his numbers are backwards!
Not sure if you can see it or not, but #2, Brandon Barnes, hit for the cycle that night (HR, Triple, Single, and then a Double!)
It was Paul's first time to see that happen in real life, and Paul David scored it!!!!

 Me and Funny Guy!

We walked in by the Home Run Pump, so we stopped to take a picture...we'd never taken a picture there before!

Picture of the Boys...Judson acting the Goof, but it is TOO CUTE!
because then in the next one, Paul David looks away:(
Poor Astros, though, it's so hard for them to win!
We also stayed for the Fireworks, and we didn't get home until super late because the game went on FOREVER!  I'll say it again, the Friday Night Fireworks Show is the best EVER! It's like the Grand Finale of every other show for 15 minutes!  They even said that they were voted Best Fireworks Show at a Sports Venue by Good Morning America!  It's Pretty Awesome!

Good Shepherd Camp

And While Brother was at Sports Camp, Judson went to his own little Camp at the Episcopal Church in town!

It was Disco Week, so they had this in the entry and Disco Music playing!
So cute!

On the last day, they made head bands and gave them all Peace Sunglasses!  HA!

When I picked him up the first day, he said, "Mommy, GUESS what we talked about today!"  I had no idea and he said, "The YMCA!  It's a SONG, too!"  It was hilarious!  The teacher said that after they sang it she asked if anyone went to the Y while their mommy and daddy exercised! Sometimes, I think it would be very confusing to be a kid!

Anyway, this camp was also WONDERFUL!  They had four weeks of it, but you get to pick which weeks you want to go and you don't have to go to them all!  Judson went to two of them...the same weeks Paul David had his camps!  It really worked out great for us and I loved that it was so flexible!  I've always done a Tues/Thursday camp for the month of July, and that just seems hard because you've paid for it all so there's no way you'll plan anything to miss it!  This way we were able to just block off those two weeks for camps and the rest were flexible if we wanted to do something else!
And Judson loved it even though the last week he went he had no friends he already knew there!

Triumph Sports Camps

Paul David participated in Second Baptist Church's Triumph Sports Camp in the middle of July!

In the morning, he played flag football with these kids (he's in the red shirt, 6th from the left)

and in the afternoon, Dodgeball with these kids
(he's still in red, third from the left)

This year, they had a facebook page, so I got these pictures off of that...
With their Coach, Aiden...he was coach of the week!
Paul David is way down at the end by the girl...you can barely see his face:
The last day waiting to go home!
Whew, he had fun!
This camp was from 9-3:30 with a lunch break between sessions!
You would think he would have EXHAUSTED, but oh, no, he kept on going all the rest of the day!
This is one camp, we'll keep doing as long as he wants...the coaches are wonderful, they do a devotional and learn a scripture and they play hard the whole time.  I've been picking up on all he did learn about football the last couple of weeks!  Great Camp!!!!
