Anniversary Party

So the reason we were in Ennis was for Wes' Parent's 50th Anniversary Party.

Here's Wes with his brother, John, and his Parent's, Elaine and Joe:

Elaine thanking everyone for coming and introducing everyone...that's little Julia beside her!
And then Mason joined his Grandma...so sweet:
Two of my guys all dressed up:
My other little guy high on Sprite:
 Wes and Julia:
Judson, oh, Judson!  The night started off a little rocky with the kiddos...I thought it was going to be a LONG night, but they settled down and started playing with the many electronic devices that I brought and watched a little bit of a movie on the portable DVD player...

Joe and Elaine had eloped when they got married, so this was really their Wedding Reception...complete with the cutting of the bride and groom cakes and first dance:

 College Buddies!
They had cooked brisket all day, too, and it was AMAZING!
I told them that it would be more believable if they'd said they majored in FOOD at SHSU!
 Our Little Family:
Of course there was dancing by the kids...
which sometimes consisted of mostly rolling around on the ground!!!
Happy Anniversary, Joe and Elaine!

Visiting The Pool Family

Last weekend, we to Ennis, TX to visit Paul's college roommate at Sam Houston, Wes and his family.  They're a really cool family...they live beside Rebecca's mom, so there are always a ton of kids roaming about the two properties.  Rebecca has a ton of brothers and sisters, plus Rebecca and Wes have 5 children.  Three are older than our kids...Alyssa, Luke and Cade, but Mason is 5 and Julia is 2!  Perfect!  They live on this big chunk of land, so they have chickens and baby chickens running about!  They also had a trampoline, that Paul David and Mason had a blast on!

 Mason:

 Mr. Rooster:
 Some of the bigger babies:
A chicken...I would have gladly taken some eggs off their hands, but they never did offer:)
What we were really there for is coming up next!!!

Bowling Time!

Last summer, we signed up for the Kids Bowl Free Program and also added the family package to it where we could bowl with them!  It was a lot of fun, but we didn't get to go very many times!

A couple of weeks ago, Paul David and Judson happened to start watching Bowling on TV one Sunday afternoon.  I think I was sick, so I was just happy that they were watching something so I could rest! Paul David asked if we could go bowling again.  I said, "Yes, we can go this summer!"  He replied back, "Oh, is the bowling place only open in the summer!"  I get lazy in answering him sometimes, and I just said yes, they're only open in the summer!  Paul says that's going to embarrass him one day when a girl he's dating wants to go bowling in December.  He's going to be like, no sorry, it's only open in the summer!

ANYWAY, all that to say, IT'S SUMMER at Kids Bowl Free!  We got our first set of coupons last week, so after our field trip to the fire station, we headed to the Bowling Alley!

They/We had the best time!  The balls are still a little too heavy for them, and it takes FOREVER for the ball to actually get down the lane!  It's fun though, and they get so excited when they knock over the pins!

The highlight is waiting for your ball to come back:

I can't even get over how adorable they look in those bowling shoes, too!
Looking forward to a fun filled summer of BOWLING!

Field Trip to the Firestation

We had been wanting to take the boys back to the Firestation forever, but it just never worked out!  Paul David started asking, too, so when Daddy had a couple of days off last week, we took one of them to head to see Paw Paw!

On the way, Paul David talked about how he was almost taller than the tire when he was there at Christmas!  Well, he's officially taller than the tire:

He LOVED sitting in the Firetrucks!
 He even buckled himself in:
Judson was a little tentative, so Paul just sat him right up there...

 He got used to it...

 Then, he started driving it:)

Paul David asked me to take this picture:

 In front of the truck:

Paw Paw showed them the hose:

Paul David was climbing all over the trucks.  We looked up and he'd climbed in the back of one and took a seat:
 Then, they drove the Ambulance:
Paul David was ready to get inside:
Judson was not.  He did not like the inside of the ambulance!  Let's hope he never has to take a ride in one!
This face he's making pretty much sums up his character.  That's just what he is, A CHARACTER!
Paul David ready to help out a patient!

It was a fun field trip to Paw Paw's Firestation!
