Little Fish!!!!

Since Judson's birthday party in June, Preston has become quite the fish in water! After a few minutes in the pool Saturday, he was ready to JUMP off the diving board!

Then, he swam to the other end of the pool...

UNDERWATER at times!

I am SO beyond proud of him! He's grown up way too fast!

WAY TO GO PRESTON!!!!!!

A Visit From Cousins

Some of our favorite people are our cousins, and well, we got a visit from two of them (and their awesome Mommy and wonderful Nana!) this weekend. They got here on Friday night, toured the house, then we all jumped in the pool! It was so much fun!

Saturday morning, the kids hit the playroom. I cracked up when I saw Preston playing with the baby toys:

After breakfast, we loaded up in the van and headed over to view the old house (which is under contract, and hopeful to close on Sept. 30th...YAY, and also makes me sad). After they oohed and ahhed over how big it looked without all our stuff, we went to Hobby Lobby and the mall.

We got home, ate lunch, then hit the pool again!

Judson slept for the first part of the swim, then Paul David started acting weird after he fell and hurt his leg, so he took a nap, too. When Judson woke up, he got in the pool for a little while, then Paul David joined us. He just wanted to blow bubbles though:

We ended the night with some yummy BBQ that Paul had been smoking all night and day. Mimi, Paw Paw, Uncle Justin, Uncle Bobby, Michael, Gena, Lily and Foster all came over too. It was a FULL, FUN house for sure!!!!

Astros Helmet

I want to tell you a story. It's going to feel like you don't know where I'm going with this, but I promise you it will make a point at the end. I promise:)

My in-laws moved to Kingwood in 1978. They moved because my father-in-law was working for the fire and ems department out here. It was a volunteer ran department. Many of the friends they have now were part of the volunteer fire and ems departments. When Houston annexed Kingwood in the late 90's, they took over the fire and ems. The group of volunteers have remained close though, and get together for dinner once a month.

One of the volunteers that has become a great friend to the whole family is Janet. She calls herself Aunt Janet to the babies...they love her, and she loves them! Janet had a son, Brett who was older than Michael and Paul. Brett was killed in a car accident while at college in Lubbock. It makes me so sad for Janet...I can't even imagine.

Last weekend, Paul and his dad went to bring more stuff over from the old house (yes, there was STILL stuff over there...I think there may still be some stuff). Anyway, Paul came in with about 6 old Astros Batting Helmets. The boys went NUTS!!!!

Later on, Paul told his dad that this helmet was Brett's:

Brett had given it to him when he had outgrown it...you know like on Toy Story 3. He knew the Legoudes boys would want it!

I watched Paul David playing with that helmet all day and thought about Brett. I never met Brett, but I know him through Janet. I know Brett was watching our boys play with that helmet and loving it! Brett lives on...even if it is through an old Astros Batting Helmet!

Baby Birds

On the day we moved in to our house, Sarah was here early in the morning. She told us that there were a ton of birds that showed up around 8:00 outside. Well, when we looked, there are 3 birdhouses out there! We added that to our list of things to do...take down the bird houses. Sorry to all you bird lovers, but we just didn't want to mess with well, their mess since the houses are right over the gate on the patio.

Fast forward to a week or so ago...the taking down of the bird houses is low priority, and I guess since we're not feeding the birds, I really haven't seen the mob of them that Sarah described. So a week or so ago, we hear this continuous cheeping. Paul finally got out of the pool to investigate and decided there were baby birds in one of the houses.

He then risked his life and took these pictures of the TWO baby birds and some eggs:

And even though we're not nature lovers, we did find this VERY cute and have enjoyed the baby birds little cheeps:

They were brand spanking new...here's one poking his head out YELLING for his Mama:
Last weekend, I realized they were still there. I can really only tell that there's still 2, but look how much it's grown up:

I expect that they'll be gone soon, but how fun to watch!

Cooler Weather=Park Time

I'm so bad at making up titles for my blog posts, so I'm going to start a new game. Try to guess who's blog I stole the title from!!!!

Yesterday morning, God decided to give us a little surprise! He does that every once in a while, and it usually shocks us. This one did just that! The last two mornings, it's been in the low 70's outside with NO humidity! Praise the Lord!

So, this morning, I loaded up Judson in the stroller, and Paul David and I walked him down to our "new" park!

AWESOME!!!!

Judson said, "YAY" to his first experience at the park as a WALKER!!!!

Paul David was TOO happy to be running and playing at the park again!

He even JUMPED off the steps...that's huge for him! He really is very scared of climbing too high on the equipment. I could tell that Judson might be the same way...crazy kids!

He's happy on the ground though:
or in the swing:

THIS was a huge feat for Paul David...climbing these stairs and sitting there:

He was telling me about something while I was snapping pictures. His Mama should really start combing that hair:

Oooh, a wheel!

We were the only ones there until we were about to leave, then two girls on bikes with a boy each rode up. Turned out I knew them from Bible Study and one of the boys was in Paul David's toddler class at MDO two years ago, plus they're in the same Bible Study class and Sunday School class. The other little boy and Paul David will both go to the same elementary school in 2 years! I so wish we'd been a little later or they'd been a little earlier. Paul David would have loved to play with them!!!! Next time!!

Don't forget to guess where I got my blog title!!
