New Lionesses at the Houston Zoo

This post is mostly for Justin, but other Lion-Lovers may be interested, too!

The Houston Zoo got 3 new Lionesses, and today we went and saw them.

They are BEAUTIFUL!

See the block spots on the back of that one's ears? Well, they all have that. The zoo keeper we talked to didn't know if that was just the ones from that part of Africa or what, but it's pretty cool! It protects them because the other animals think it's their eyes, so they don't know if it's their front or back they're approaching.
Two of them have really weird names, but one is named Maddie. I wish they'd just name them all with names we could pronounce!

They're young and playful...and by playful, I mean they MOVED! One even tried to play with the other one! The other Lions really didn't get around much.

We had a really fun day...the weather was GORGEOUS!!!

I'll post some more pictures of the kiddos later!

Naked Baby Alert!!!!!!

Poor Judson's been spending a lot of time doing this in the hallway while Paul David goes potty:

Usually, he has clothes on though:) This day, it was an EMERGENCY, and Judson was between clothes changing. Then, he looked so cute sitting there naked, that I grabbed the camera!!!

Have I told you before how much I adore 6 month and above old babies???? Well, Judson is proving me right for sure! This baby is soooooo HAPPY! He really truly rarely fusses at all anymore. He'll sit and play where ever you put him! He even plays in his car seat for an hour while we walk every morning...sometimes, he'll fall asleep, but mostly he just plays. If you smile at him, you get that big smile above right back! Just a JOY! (Now I really hope I don't jinx it!!!)

He's sitting up really well now, too! With all the practice he's gotten sitting in the hallway, he's bound to be! We're expecting him to start crawling anytime now! He's already rolling all over the place or pulling himself to the toy he wants.

One thing I LOVE about when baby's sit up is their little toes. They curl to help them balance:

Oh, so sweet!

Couldn't you just eat those piggies right UP???

Paul's New Toy

For Paul's birthday this year, I went out and bought him a NEW CAR!!!!!!

Just kidding...well about the part that I bought it! He actually went the day after Christmas and bought it, then we picked it up on his birthday. He's so excited!!! He'd been driving my 2000 Accord for the last 3 1/2 years, so he really deserved this!

So, he got an Infiniti G37, and let me tell you...IT IS AWESOME! You can hook up your ipod to it, it has a hard drive that you can put your CD's on to so you don't have to carry them around in your car, it's got navigation which is amazing, you just have to have the remote in your pocket or purse, then just push a button and the doors unlock and the trunk opens....then you just press the brake and push a button to start and stop it, and it drives like a dream...yeah, I'll be in it every chance I get! I do love my van with the kids and trips, but I have a love of a sedan as well!

The Back Burner

Well, the back burner's getting full, too! That's where the blog, my scrapbooking, my 365 blog, Judson's baby book, organizing my pictures, cleaning my house (Ok, so that one's ALWAYS on the back burner), etc. is right now.

The focus of our house has become one thing since after Christmas:

I've never spent so much time in the bathroom!!!!

We've been through all phases of potty training from being nice to not letting him off the potty until he did something. We've found a happy medium that seems to be kind of working for now! Today (Wednesday), he's only had one accident and that was in the bed. He's even POOPED in the potty which has been our biggest obstacle!

His accident really was an accident, and I really can't say it was his fault. Naptime was a nightmare, so I decided that it must be over. I took off his pull-up, and then he went and got back in bed while I was feeding Judson. By the time I got back in there, he'd fallen asleep. I decided just to listen for him, but then I only heard him when he'd said he was wet.

So, we had a MAJOR breakthrough the other night and actually got a picture:

He was so PROUD...finally! Nothing has worked as far as rewards. He really hadn't even shown any motivation in pleasing us or acting like he wanted us to be proud of him. Finally, though, we saw a glimmer of the other night! He was very excited to flush...who knew! As far as rewards, it seems that the "pee-pee or poo-poo and then _____ can happen!" has worked the best. _____is usually going somewhere, putting your pants back on (he cannot stand to not have his pants on), playing with something, getting something aired up, etc. Even that doesn't work sometimes:)
So other than that, there really hasn't been much else going on in 2010. It's been pretty boring, which is really GOOD!

There has been some more than usual fussiness by Mr. Judson. I think there may be some more teeth about to make an appearance...or he's having a growth spurt. Really, I don't know what's going on, but it should would be nice and help out if he'd just TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG!!!!!

He has started sitting up really well by himself. He's getting a lot of practice since he sits in the hallway outside the bathroom while I'm trying to coax someone to go potty!

So, hopefully, life will get straightened out around here and I can bring the blog back to the front burner! I have so much to post, but so little time:)

Legoudes Christmas

Christmas Night, Mimi, Paw Paw and Uncle Justin came over for our gift exchange and dinner!

Paul David and Judson got spoiled even more...

So did Paul...he got a set of 1975 Topps Baseball cards! He was just beside himself. He said that it was the best gift...one he's always wanted, but never thought he'd ever get! Well, wish I had known that! Thankfully, his dad did!

We got Mimi and Paw Paw a mug with the kid's picture on it.

They had an old one, but it only had Justin, Lily and Paul David on it.
This is the picture I used...poor Foster. He's just in a rough picture stage!

I LOVE this picture of Sarah! My mom and I found this at CVS one day, and I got it as a joke. It's a recorder that you put on your keychain. She always talks about how she has to park in the same spots at stores so that she'll remember where she parked. This thing lets you record where you parked and then play it back when you leave! She thought it was GREAT!

Judson and his first set of Topps cards...now he'll always have his birth year! Paw Paw gets them one every year!

This picture is the story of our life! Judson grabs Paul David's hair (or Lovey) anytime it's close enough to reach!

So cute of Judson and Mimi (and the goal post at the end of the "tunnel!")

Michael, Gena and Lily came over later for dinner and exchange more gifts...needless to say, our house is about to POP!

Lily, the other reindeer, but she called herself a Moose:

Justin and Judson playing and looking cute!

I moved to get the front of Judson's face...he was just laughing at Uncle Justin:

Foster eating his cookie...he was very unimpressed with the whole present thing!

Whew...I think that was it for the Christmases.

We've had a great year...best of all was Judson completing our little family!
We wish you all health and happiness in 2010!
Can you believe that we're beginning a new decade????

Happy New Year!!!!!

Welcome 2011!!!

I hope you treat us well this year.
Keep us safe and healthy.
May we all live, laugh, and love in 2011!
