Day 4 of Christmas PJ's

Day 4 brings another pair of Train PJ's. I found these on clearance at Dillard's last year, so he's been wearing them all year. It's a good thing he's gotten some wear out of them because before long, they'll be too little for him. I won't miss them because they get static cling so bad!!! I guess it's the material they're made out of.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got ambitious this morning and decided to make Christmas Cookies! I also decided to get Paul David to help me cut out the cookies. At first, I thought, "OH NO, I should have done most of them, then called him over for the last few" since this was really just going to be for the pictures, right? He wouldn't let me do anything. He finally figured it all out though, and we had a BLAST! All I know is, we're going to be making a lot of cookies around here. HE LOVED IT! He did so well putting the cutters on the dough and pressing on them.
So cute!

I think I've decided he's not my child! I told him he could eat the dough, since that's one of my favorite parts of making cookies. He took a nibble and didn't eat anymore the whole time...WHAT? I was astounded...I LOVE cookie dough so much!!!
My love for it reminded me of this story:

Back in the day, my sister and I got a new TV and Nintendo (the first one) for Christmas. I think we were in Junior High, maybe. Anyway, during Christmas break that year, we would make up this big batch of sugar cookie dough. Then, we would start playing Super Mario Brothers. I think April was always Mario and I was Luigi or the other way around...I don't remember, but it's not vital to the story. Anyway, while we were playing we would eat that cookie dough right off the spoon. We'd leave it in the fridge, the when we'd die, we'd go refill our spoon. I do believe it snowed/sleeted that year, so we got extra days at home, too! I'm pretty sure this contributed to the weight problems I have today. Oh, it was good though. We never did have dough that we actually baked...it's a wonder we never got sick!

OK, back to Paul David! He loved the roller, too. I think I may have to pull that thing out and let him play with it while I'm cooking dinner some nights! In the picture below, you can see how much fun he had by how much flour he got on his shirt!

Finally, the cookies were done.
He chose the star to eat, then walked around the house putting it in the air singing, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star!"
Oh, he's so stinking cute!

Tonight, we're decorating them!
Anyone want to join us????

Day 3 Of Christmas PJ's

These were last year's PJ's, but they still fit...barely! Aunt Carol bought them for him last year, and he's worn them all year. They were just too cute. After we got them last year, I was watching Jon and Kate Plus 8 and the Little Boys had these same PJ's on one of the Christmas episodes. She has such great taste! I've loved these PJ's and hate to see him grow out of them.
----------------------------------------------------
This morning I went to get Paul David out of bed, and he says "HI Mommy! Texas Fight!" I just fell out laughing. I think he dreams about Texas Longhorns. We may have gone too far in the brainwashing.
When you ask "Paul David, what's Santa bringing you?" He replies, "Helmet!"
Radomly throughout the day, he thinks of this and "Rainman's" it forever..."Ho Ho Football helmet!" which means "I want Santa (Ho Ho) to bring my football helmet, NOW!" over and over and over again! AAAHHHHHH!!!! Sometimes I wonder if "Santa" will be able to hold out one more week or bring that sucker early!
Anything Christmas related is "Ho Ho" right now. If you point to Santa, he'll say, "Ho Ho Ho," with 3 Ho's. Trees are "Ho Ho Trees," though! It's funny what he comes up with!

Day 2 of Christmas PJ's

These are his "new" ones for this year...who would have known that I would go through some of the clothes I'd bought for the next couple of years and find so many more. Oh, well, since we wear Christmas PJ's all year, it's just as well. These are the ones he'll wear Christmas Eve night. They're so cute and look so comfy! Plus, they were only $6 at Wal-Mart!

Day One of Christmas PJ's

So I've found that I have many an addiction to things lately, and one of them is Christmas Pajamas!
Between the ones Paul David can still wear from last year and the ones I've bought in bigger sizes (he can wear anywhere between 2T and 5T as long as they have tight cuffs) he's got TOO many! I decided to post one each day until Christmas...yes, that many!

So here's Day ONE of Christmas PJ's:

Christmas Tour 2008

Over on one of the blogs I stalk (BooMama), they're having this Christmas Tour 2008. You can link up your blog post with pictures of all your Christmas decorations. Well, since I don't really want the world to know me...just you select few...I thought I'd play along, just not link myself up over there. So for everyone that can't come visit us at Christmas, you can see what our place looks like all jazzed up!

So, here's my Christmas Tour 2008 of our Christmas decorations:

The 2008 Tree:

The gate kind of takes away from the ambiance of it, but it's necessary with Wild Man.
It wouldn't be as much fun if he couldn't stand on the other side of it begging for ornaments..."football helmet!"
All our ornaments are random, meaningful ornaments. Each year my mom gives us some, Paul's mom gives us some, and Krystal and I exchange ornaments. They've been collected over many years including some of Paul's from his childhood, my teaching days, and some that were given to me right before I left home.

The Stockings hung by the Chimney with care...this is the prettiest part of our decorations I think. I LOVE our stockings...and yes, I did buy an extra one, so we'll just have to get the name monogrammed on it before next year:) I also bought NOEL stocking holders so we'll have 4 for next year.
Also up there is a picture of Paul and me in a frame that reads "Our First Christmas Together." It was taken in 2004...our first Christmas that we were married. On the right it a frame that reads, "My First Christmas" and it has a picture of Paul David on Christmas morning 2006 holding his silver rattle.

Paul David's favorite Christmas Decorations...all the animated stuffed singing things.
We have the globe that plays forever, the train, the Gangsta Car that plays the theme from the George Lopez Show, the dog that sings "Jingle Bells," the cow, dog, cat trio that sing "We wish You a Merry Christmas" in their native tongue (woof, moo, and meow), and finally, the bear that reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas."

And on a plate holder, I've displayed our pictures from Christmas 2006.

Christmas Tour: Card Display and Santa Pictures

As you've probably figured out from reading some of my pre-Christmas posts, I LOVE Christmas Cards. So, needless to say, displaying them proudly is one of my favorite things to do also.

Below is my newest addition to Christmas Card Display. It's the Southern Living Photo Door Thingy. I've been putting all my photo cards there and then will put the rest over on the ribbon beside it.

Down the Hallway, I put the rest of the cards and letters. I tack up ribbons to the wall, then clip the cards on with itty-bitty clothespins. I'm not sure where I got this idea, but I love it.

On one of my many plate holders, I have the Clothespin Wreath that my mom made me a couple of years ago and Paul David's Santa Pictures. Next year, I guess I'll need both spaces for frames...we've filled up that one already!

Christmas Tour: Countdowns, Plate, and Tiles

Paul David and I have two countdowns going this year. The top one is our new one that my Mother bought me. You put something in each box each day. Paul David LOVES this one...of course he gets gummy fish, suckers, M&M's, etc. The bottom one is one I'd had my eye on for a long time and finally found it Christmas before last 50% off at Hallmark. The little felt pieces magnet on to the house. They each have a little rhyme on the back. Along the way, you can put your letter to Santa in one, then on the 25th the envelope is big enought to put something in it. I just love it! Hopefully next year, they'll help Paul David learn his numbers!

My sister and I started a Christmas Eve tradition many years ago of giving each other a pair of Christmas PJ's. Well, after about 5-6 years and 5-6 pairs of Christmas PJ's later, we decided that we had enough PJ's. In 2005, we switched to Christmas Plates. One day, I'm going to have enough to serve Christmas dinner on them...and they'll all be different.

One of my favorite things I started when Paul David was born was this:

So far, every year...ok, it's only been 3...I've taken him to the Mudpie and made these tiles. I paint them myself...which I'm very proud of because it's HARD for me to paint. We just went today and printed this year's...a Snowman. I'm going to go back this week sometime (without him...because he broke a display turtle in the short time we were there today...they just glued it back together) to finish it.

Christmas Tour-The Bookcase

The top of the bookcase starts with my Nutcracker Collection. I'm really not a Nutcracker Collector, but over the years (mostly from students), I've accumulated 7 Nutcrackers...hmmm. I need one more on the right to complete the look...maybe I'll find one after Christmas:)

The second shelf of the bookcase holds (l to r):
The first Christmas Picture ever taken of Paul and me...Christmas 2003.
The most beautiful nativity given to me by my sister and her family last year for Christmas. I'd longed for it:)
A picture of my sister and her family...Christmas 2006

The next shelf contains my lighted up stuff (l to r):
Paul's Pub...I gave this to Paul the first Christmas we were together...Christmas 2002
Digital Frame (not Christmas)
Little House that was Paul's Grandmothers
Lighted Stones made by my Aunt Mari

I hope you enjoyed my tour. I know I'll love to look back on this many Christmases from now and see how much has changed!

Snow in Texas...Huh?

Look at what was on Paul's car tonight:

It's been sleeting/snowing here most of the afternoon. It's covering the roof, cars, lawns, etc. The streets and driveways are just wet.
So, we took Paul David out to see and touch the snow just a minute ago. He liked it!

This cracked me up...it looks like my hibiscus was going to bloom after yesterday's 78 degree temperatures.
Today it's covered in snow:)

Just for fun...our yard decorations!
