Sa-Si

Here's Paul David's new toy:

"Sa-Si" or Paci
It's one of my doll's paci's, and he found it. He would never "take" a paci as a baby, and now he sucks his thumb for comfort or to go to sleep. He's always kind of been fascinated with them, though. It's so obvious he doesn't know how to suck one. He puts it in his mouth and keeps having to push it back in when it starts to fall out. He mostly just chews on it like a teething ring. So funny!

Look What We Found:

In Austin:

It was at a valid gas retailer, too, Shell, and not the "Major Brand Gas" station (that's actually a real gas station we had passed). We like to call that "cheap gas!"

Longhorn Game!

We had our third Longhorn Game on Saturday. Oh, the fun! Poor Paul David was basically set up for disaster:
1-It was HOT, not just Hot, but HOT!
It was only like 84 degrees, but the best way I can describe it is being in a tanning bed with clothes on and a little bitty fan blowing by every once in a while. HOT!
2-The game was at 2:30...we all know what a 2 year old should be doing at 2:30 in the afternoon.
3-Everybody and their dog showed up to the game...no lie, biggest attendance ever in the state of Texas...so it was super crowded.
4-The ice in your drink melted in about 2 seconds...it was HOT!
5-The sun was SOOO bright. I was getting a headache from squinting (and I was wearing my hat...my $20 hat that I bought at the game because the other 5 we own were at home...who knew it was going to be so sunny!), so I know he had to be pretty miserable, too.

Waiting in the shade until game time:

Here come the Horns:

Finally gave up for the last 30 minutes of the game.

It was a tough game...for us and the Horns, but we all survived. They even won! I just feel bad for Paul David because he was so excited about the "CootCaw Game" on the way there. It was just too much to be so tired and watch the game, too...plus it was hot, but I think I mentioned that!

Hummer Time

My dad got this good deal on this Hummer, and the kids LOVE it!

You have to focus in on Paul David's face in this first picture.
I just belly laughed when I saw it. He was not too excited at first!

All Better Now:

This is a scary thought and one I'm not too happy about thinking, but in 11 years, we'll probably be seeing this with a REAL car. Preston will probably be driving in 11 short years, and I can just see Paul David right there beside him. They'll be off to Cruise the big city without their mommies there to photograph it all! BOOOHOOOO!

Kendall got to drive a little, but the babies aren't as efficient with it as Preston.
Paul David is banned from driving it for awhile.
He's a crazy driver, just gasses it without looking where he's going.

Feeding the Fish

My parents bought some land from my grandparents, and it has this great pond on it. My dad bought a ton of fish to stock it for fishing in a about a
year, but right now the fun part is going to feed the fish.

We went up there Saturday and did some feeding:

Preston, Sarah, Paul David, Lily, Mother, Justin, and Paul

Here you can see the circles the fish make when they're eating.
It's really a cool experience.
My dad can just drive up in his truck and the water starts churning. They are ready to EAT!
It should be some good, easy fishing!

Catching Up, AGAIN!

We have our internet back...YAY! A big thanks to Paul from Sudden Link...we're connected!

I just posted a ton of posts, and I still have a few from the weekend to get to. Paul flew to Dallas this morning for the day and didn't make it home due to the storms here. He's staying overnight and flying home in the morning. Thus, all the posts...I was bored!

1st Annual Halloween Carnival

Since my friends were going to be in town for Homecoming, we decided to have our 1st Annual Halloween Carnival in conjunction with that. We had 70 people come, 34 were kids. It was a blast. We had some little games for them to play with prizes and candy. We posted the rules and how to earn the prize, and as far as we know, it worked out wonderfully. The older kids that "got it" seemed to have fun, while our toddlers rearranged most of the games all night and ate suckers. Can you say, "Sugar High?" That's what you were on if you were 2!

We had hot dogs and chili, train rides, and a hay ride (which included a barking dog that followed us for about 10 miles.)

Here's a collage of most of the costumes. I tried to get them all, but wasn't very lucky.

It was so much fun for us to plan and see everyone enjoying themselves so much! Can't wait for the 2nd Annual Halloween Carnival!

For more pictures of the Carnival, check out Amanda and Krystal's posts here and here.

Paul David at the Carnival

Here's some of the fun Paul David had at the Carnival. Yes, that's a sucker in his hand or mouth the whole time. You'd think it was the same one, but my teeth can attest that it wasn't because I ate the ones he didn't. He'd go snatch one from the prize buckets, I'd open it, he'd suck on it for a little while, then he'd bring it to me, I'd finish it while he went to get a new one. Repeat.

He had a great time. Thanks to everyone that helped us make this the best Carnival so far!

Sunday-Oct. 19

After we cleaned up, the kids did their favorite thing to do at Nana and Papa's...RUN and PLAY! They love to just run in the yard, and I love to sit on the porch and snap pictures. (Remember you can click on the collage to make it bigger to see the pictures better.)

We were so glad to have Lily there with us for the Carnival and the fun play time Sunday.
Kids love kids!

Do you see this red drink in Preston's hand? I bought a ton of these for the Carnival and not many got drank...except by my kid. I bet he had 5 on Saturday once we calculated how many he'd gotten from everyone. You know the, "Well, I opened 2 for him." "Yeah, I know I opened at least one for him." That's not even counting all the ones he found half drank and decided to down the rest while no one was the wiser!

So, on Sunday, he started all over again. April said she opened two for him. I think I may have gotten him one. Paul said he'd gotten him at least one. I caught him drinking Kendall's at one point. He's got a problem.

Anyway, I noticed on Sunday that his left thumb was blood red. WHAT? I finally figured it out...he was sucking his thumb and his tongue and mouth were beet red. Cracked me up!

All Aboard!

We used this train at the Carnival on Saturday, but it was so dark that we didn't get any pictures in it. On Sunday, April gave the kids some extra train rides. They loved it!

Barry had made this for Preston's 1st birthday, then they used it for Kendall's 1st birthday. I'm sure it will be used many years to come. It was a hit at the Carnival.
