Style...

Sarah, Paul David and I went shopping today...at a mall! Gymboree is having another fantastic sale plus Gymbucks...and well, we all know what happens to me---I LOSE MY MIND! As we were leaving the mall, we stopped in at Macy's to take turns in the restroom. While I was waiting, I was looking around at the clothes...I am WAY out of style, but I think I'm better off out of style than in:

This black top...really, what bra would you wear with that???

Yes, this pink dress is a dress...not lingerie! OH, MY! Take me grocery shopping in that!

This style is my favorite...if you see these in person, you would know that you have to be at least 6 feet tall to wear it. Can you just see clumsy me trying to wrestle with that long dress...and a 2 year old? They're just adorable, but you have to be amazon woman that's like a size 1 to pull it off!

I guess I'll stick to my "mommy" clothes because I just don't think that I can go there!

The Weekend...

Here are some pictures of the weekend and last night. I'm going through the pictures that my mom sent back with Paul David, so I'll have some of those ready soon for a post!

Here are Baby and Me at 35.5 weeks:

We were going to lunch with one of Paul's former bosses and his wife at Lupe Tortilla! It's embarrassing how much I can eat right now!

On Thursday, Paul David's teacher brought my Mother's Day Gift from him to me. She was afraid that it wouldn't last until Monday when he came back to school. I do believe that it's the cutest thing I've EVER seen:

On Mother's Day, we met my parents to get our sweet boy! It worked out great because we got to spend part of Mother's Day with both our Moms. I know they were sad to see him go, but we were so happy to see him!

Me and the reason I'm a Mom:

My Mother and Me:
That afternoon, we spent the rest of Mother's Day with Mimi. We got to swim and the guys fixed fajitas and queso! Yum! I meant to get a picture of Paul with his Mom, too, but it didn't happen. I'm sure I would have gotten "The Look" when I suggested it anyway. I had this whole plan, but oh well!
Paul and Paul David gave me a new program for my computer and a cool Longhorn Shirt for Mother's Day. It was such a great day!

Last week before he left, Paul David had been really playing with his Hot Wheels. I mentioned that April had this playset that was so cool, and I wished we could find something like that for Paul David. Paul said that he had some Hot Wheels stuff at his parents. Lo and behold, he had the SAME one I was thinking about...can you believe that???

Check it out April...remember all the hours we played with this:

We had put them on the fireplace, and the first thing Paul David went to when he got home was them. I'm not sure who's having more fun with them Paul or Paul David:

Maybe Paul David...look at that face (he's looking at Paul)!
He keeps saying, "Play cars with Daddy!"

There's a car wash in it, but he calls it the Washdown (like on Thomas):

They're having the best time playing with that 25+ year old toy!

Reunited...

And it feels so good!

My baby boy is home! We met my parents for lunch today, and retrieved our precious one! He actually was excited to come with us...shocked me! I figured we were in for a lot of "No, I want Nana!"s, but he proved me wrong! We've a great afternoon, and now that my favorite photo subject is home and my house is clean, the blog should be active this week!

And Now...

There is one woman vacuuming my living room while one is cleaning my kitchen...while I blog...I think this may be what paradise feels like!
Since my favorite photo subject is out of town getting his picture made by Nana, Papa and Aunt April, I really have nothing to blog about...

EXCEPT, there are two ladies here right now scrubbing my bathrooms, and I'm just plain giddy! I tried to get them something, and one of them said, "Don't do that, I'll get it. You don't need to bend over anymore!" She's so sweet...I love her already!

I'm missing my little man SOOO much, but I keep telling myself that he's having the best time up there! You can see here that he's in hog heaven!

So yesterday, in my boredom, I decided to play a little with Photoshop! Now, you should all know that Photoshop is my nemesis...we don't get along very well. I usually end up so frustrated that I never even save stuff I do...it usually doesn't turn out very well. Yesterday, I really got into changing the colors and cropping this one pool photo. It's not the best photo ever, but I wanted something with lots of blue in it to play with, plus the orange was an added bonus! These pictures are here mostly for me because I wanted to see them all together to see if you could see a difference.

So here it is Straight out of the Camera after cropping:

Here it is when I played with the colors on my own. I went a little too crazy with the blue because if you enlarge it, he's got blue in his hair. Apparently, he had water in his hair...duh!

Here I used Pioneer Woman's Action Boost:

Here I used the Pioneer Woman's Action-Fresh and Lively:

So, it turns out that I can tell a little difference between the first and the others, but just not that much. I'm trying to get myself to do more with my pictures like this, but honestly, if it's not going to change them that much, and I'm just going to print them to cut them up for a scrapbook, I think I'm wasting my time. Oh, well, at least now I know I can do it:)

Now, if I take one someday that I want to hang on my wall...I may play with it a little more. There you just heard my pact with myself!

One Month To Go!

Check out the expiration date...
I remember when I started seeing my due date with Paul David on products in the store it was a little surreal! With this pregnancy, I've been in a little bit of denial as to how close it is until delivery. Well, at HEB the other night, it hit me in the face...
Candice: Oh, my look at the expiration date on this Orange Juice.
Paul: Man, that's a long time!
Candice: Yeah, a long time if you're talking about orange juice...not a long time if you're talking about having a BABY!!!
Paul: Yeah, you're right!
We had to get the OJ even though I'd just bought some!
I'm really going to freak out when I find some milk with a June 4th expiration date!

Friday-Sunday...

Here are some pictures of our weekend.
We started Friday with my Doctor's appointment...going every 2 weeks now! Baby's heartrate was in the 140's...got a little hyper on us! I go back next Friday.
After my appointment, we headed over to a friend's house for a playgroup. They had a little luncheon and shower for us. It was so cute. They had the yummiest cake, too. Oh, it was so good! Paul David had so much fun playing. These girls that did all this are some friends that we met at a Le Leche League meeting back when our two year olds were only babies (funny thing about that was that we all met there, but none of us ever went back...we formed our own support group that was for us...turned out none of us were really cut out for Le Leche League...kind of wish I were, but I'm not). Then, we all started hanging out at the library on Thursdays. It's been so much fun watching our little ones grow up! Now, there's a few that are moving on to the world of two babies!

On Saturday, my mom came into town. After a fun birthday party for Paul David's buddy, Colton, we hit the pool! It was a great day for the pool. I know you're going to get tired of these kind of pictures, but we swim a lot...

"Where is Justin???"
"There he is!"
Last week, Paul ordered us an external flash for our camera. Here's the deal. We LOVE our Canon Rebel XT...the best investment we ever made. We've had it since 2005 and have thought about replacing it before the baby! During our photography class, I was asking how I could make my pictures look better indoors under yucky overhead lighting (we all know our kid's do the cutest things inside at NIGHT!) Paul David is sooo fair that the flash just washes him OUT! She suggested the external flash, so that we could bounce the light off the ceiling rather than having that harsh flash right in your eyes. Well, after that, we decided that the only difference in our camera and the newer ones is the megapixals, and since we're not getting 16X20 prints made, that was really a waste for us. We decided to invest some money into making the camera we have better. It's working.
This picture is with the external flash:
This is with the camera flash:

Can you see the difference???
I think that it's really going to come in handy with the baby. I can't wait to play with it more...it has a ton of settings!
So, Sunday Paul David went with my Mom for the week. Since I'm not up for traveling anymore, and we hated for him to miss seeing everyone up there and everyone seeing him, we decided to have him go now rather than when the baby comes (oh, my I would be a wreck if he went then...I've already had bouts of weepiness...it's only day 1...can you imagine with post-partum hormones raging...bad, bad, bad). Anyway, so he's up with my Parents for the week, and I have a two page list of things to get done. I've already made tons of progress in getting the chaos OUT of this house! Plus, we're treating ourselves to some cleaning ladies on Friday! YAY...I can't wait! I'm hoping Paul likes it so much that he'll suggest we have them keep coming...yeah right, but I can wish!
Back to organizing and throwing things away!
