How Do You Eat Corn on the Cob?

We had corn on the cob tonight at dinner, and Paul buttered Paul David one. I thought it would just be funny to see if he could eat it, and he loved it! You can see on the bottom of it that some is actually gone! His appetite is back with a vengence! He's going to eat us out of house and home. I made a pork tenderloin tonight, too. When it was just Paul and I eating it, we would have at least enough left for one meal. Tonight between the three of us, we ate it all. I think Paul David ate three pieces of it!

MMMM, Good!

The Doodle"fish"

I know you've been dying to know the names of the fish! Well, we call them the Doodle"fish"-Rooney, Deedee and Moe. Paul David loves the Doodlebops, so I only thought it would be fitting! He LOVES these fish! I'm so glad Paul suggested we get them for his Easter Basket! He's so smart! Paul David pretty much ignores us during his bedtime goodnights now. It's all about saying goodnight to the Doodlefish! "Night, Fish!" and he waves until we're in the other room! In the mornings, it's lots of "Hi Fish!" over and over! Paul and I just check every morning to make sure they're still alive! Thank goodness it's only 28 cents to replace them!

The Neti-Pot

So, Paul David and I have been to the doctor! He was diagnosed with a touch of Bronchitis...never expected that! I finally got in this morning, and I have some sinus stuff going on. She gave me an antibiotic and told me to buy and use a Neti-Pot. Now, I have heard of this, seen it on Oprah, my mom and father-in-law have them, and used them. I've been very leery of it though because I've never like nose sprays and things. I wasn't sure it was for me, but my head hurts so much, and I'm so stopped up that I thought I'd give it a try. $14.99 at CVS, but with my bucks and gift cards (this has been a great two days for gift cards for me!) it was free! Let me tell you I would have paid full price and more. That thing is so weird to use and watch, but holy cow it gets a lot of "Stuff" out of there! I've been blowing all morning and haven't had that much come out. TMI I know, but it was awesome. I'm still not 100%, but when it says instant relief it means it! I did feel relief for sure!

My opinion: Get one to have on hand when your head starts getting stuffy!

Our Easter

We spent Easter a little under the weather. We all have a little bit of the head stuff now!
We set out Paul David's Easter basket, and he immediately emptied it! It had a UT Jersey, a bubble wand, and a Starter Fish Bowl. It also had a little basketball net and three balls in it, but he had found those on Saturday and played with them all weekend! Oh well! The bowl had a picture of a fish on it, so he kept pointing and saying "fish!" We went Sunday night and got three little Goldfish for it! We hope we can keep them alive! He's so beyond cute with them. He says "Hi Fish!" and waves at them. Then when we go to bed at night, he'll say "night, fish!" He gets so excited when he remembers that they're there!

We had dyed Easter Eggs with Nana before we left for Florida! Paul David wasn't too into it. He just wanted to play with the eggs and throw them!
Sunday morning, Paul put some Goldfish crackers in some plastic eggs and "hid" them outside along with the hard boiled ones! Paul David had a lot of fun finding them and putting them in his basket. He kept throwing them, then picking them up. There was one blue one that he really got attached to. He finally threw one of the plastic ones down, and the fish tumbled out of it. "Fish!" From then on, he would throw it and say "fish!" He keeps bringing those plastic eggs to me and saying fish. If I just hand him the fish, he says NO. I have to put them in the eggs and give them to him that way! It may be the only way he eats goldfish now!

Is this "SNOT" the cutest little boy?

For lunch, we had hamburgers over at Paul's parents. Yummy! Then Sarah planned an egg hunt where we had to get the baby's to put the eggs in our baskets. There was a $1 in each egg. Poor Lily had to do all the work. I think once Paul David found out there were no fish in the eggs, he was done!

Happy Easter everyone!

Home, Sweet Home!

We flew out of Orlando on Saturday morning. It was sad to leave the others as they were heading out to drive back to Texas. I was thanking God that we didn't have to drive as well. I felt horrible with a stuffy head, scratchy throat, sneezing, coughing, etc. Well, Paul David just wasn't doing well in the car! He did so well on the plane coming to Orlando that I thought I might be getting my due on the trip back. I was a little nervous! He was an angel though! He fell asleep soon after we took off in Orlando and slept until right before we landed. Then in Dallas, we ate and he walked around a bit. I got out all the books and toys for the 45 minute trip to Houston, and the little sweetheart fell asleep again!

When we got home, thanks to Uncle Michael, Paul David just sat and watched The Doodlebops and Little Einsteins for an hour. Then he got down and played and played and played! He had the best time seeing his old toys again!

The driving crew made record time! They were home by 9:00, which made them arrive in less than 14 hours! It was nice to have daddy home, too!

Games 6 and 7

Game 6- Tigers vs. Blue Jays

We were back at Joker Marchant Stadium for our 6th baseball game. We are all exhausted, and Paul and I were working on getting sick. The diehards we are though wouldn't let us quit! We had two games left, and we were in it for the long haul! We were in the best shade for the whole game, add to that a bowl of ice cream and you've got yourself a good time! Tigertown is another great place to see a baseball game! These stadiums are so small that even though you're in row G, you're halfway up the stadium, but so close to the action!

Game 7- Yankees vs. Rays

After we left Lakeland, we headed for Tampa. Tampa is the spring home of the New York Yankees. Now, when you get to Legend's Field, you almost feel like you're in New York instead of Florida. The people act like you always hear how New Yorkers act...rude, crude, and just plain unfriendly. I've never really experienced rude New Yorkers until I came to this stadium two years ago because on our trip to New York everyone was so nice and friendly. It is fun to watch a baseball game there though because of all the big names of the Yankees. We saw Jeter, Damon, A-Rod, and even Rivera!

Is Paul David already keeping score? I wish! No, he was helping Grammy with her Sudoku Puzzle! He had the best time at this game because these seats were made for tall Italians apparently! He had plenty of room to just walk in front of us all from person to person!

Our games are over, but we have so many memories! What a great week? We made it to seven games in five days! We have tons of pictures, but really we will cherish our time we got to spend as a family!

One last thing: PLAY BALL! Only a week until the season begins!

Game 4 and 5

Game 4- Indians vs. Rays

We were able to sleep in this morning and get going later which is always good! Once we got to the stadium though, wouldn't you know that Paul David had just fell asleep! So the guys waited on him to wake up, and Sarah and I went on in the park. This particular stadium has food that reminds you of a fair except there were no corn dogs! One of the best things about this day was that we were in the shade the whole time. That's about it, though. Sarah decided that the seats were made for 100 pound women, and well, none of us are that! There was no leg room, no arm room, basically not much room for all of us and this wiggly baby that is just not feeling all that great (he got an eye tooth while we were in Florida!) Sarah took Paul David down to the picnic area just behind the stands to play. Well, as luck would have it, Carlos Pena of the Rays walked right by there and stopped and talked to Paul David. No camera, no autograph book, nothing to document this!

We were lucky enough to go back to the house and catch an hour of rest before:

Game 5- Braves vs. Tigers

The Braves play at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World. We were running a little late, so we had to park far, far away! Paul David got to ride on Daddy's shoulders up to the stadium. Lucky him!

I have to say that this is one of the funnest games to go to. They keep you pretty entertained. Paul David did excellent...actually, he did great at all the night games (thank goodness the Astros play mostly at night!)

One more day to go with two more games! Can we do it? Yes we can!

Game 3- Braves vs. Astros

We had a great day yesterday! It was another beautiful day in Florida. Paul, Paul David and I stayed home for most of the day. Mike, Sarah, and Justin went to Magic Kingdom for the day. Paul David found the pots and lids in the cabinets and had a blast!

For lunch, we went to Giordanno's-Paul's favorite Deep Dish Pizza. It was Paul David's first time there, and he ate almost a whole piece of deep dish minus the bottom crust. As you can see, he loved every last piece!

After we picked up the Disney crew, we headed for the Astros Spring Training home of Osceola County Stadium to watch the Astros take on the Braves! The guys got a few autographs before and after the game which was fun! The Astros won, and they had an amazing fireworks show after the game. Paul David did not like that too much!

Game 2- Nationals vs. Tigers

Yesterday began with a restful morning. It was nice to not leave the house until 10:30. We grabbed a quick bite at McDonald's, then headed for Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland Florida. The Tigers have been playing Spring Training Baseball there for 72 years. That's just crazy!

After the game:

Sarah and Justin went to Animal Kingdom for the day! They had a great time!

Game 1-Dodgers vs Astros

We are having a great time in Florida! We went to Vero Beach yesterday. They had an awesome beach that was accessed from a park. We enjoyed walking on the sand and watching the waves.

Everyone on Vero Beach

After our Beach Excursion, we headed for Dodgertown. The LA Dodgers have been playing Spring Training Baseball in Vero Beach for 61 years, and this was the last Dodger game there ever. They're moving Spring Training to Arizona next year and playing the rest of Spring Training there. It was extra special for us because they were playing the Astros (and the Astros won 12-10!) We had the most fabulous weather. It was sunny, but very breezy.
