THE GOOD------
My parents came for a visit this weekend. It's always so wonderful to have them here. Nana loves to give Paul David all her kisses! He was still feeling pretty cranky, so she was treated to lots of snuggle time! Nana gave away a lot of kisses...I think Paul David only "gave" kisses to his toy train!
THE BAD-------
Yesterday afternoon Mother, Paul David and I were going to go to get newspapers and to CVS. I grabbed Paul David's shoes and for some reason decided to just hold him to put his shoes on. They were is imitation Crocs, so they would just slide on! Well, when I went to put them on his foot, he lunged backwards and fell right to the carpeted floor. Scared all of us half to death, but he calmed down after some cuddling and Lovey! We went on to run our errands, but he was oh so cranky all afternoon and night. He just stayed in someone's lap all day...every once in awhile he would cry out. We went through all the possibilities...stomach ache, constipated, still sick from the croup, etc. Nothing seemed to help, so he finally went to bed.
THE UGLY------
Today, Paul David finally brightened up a little, but not 100%...maybe not even 75%...at times 25%. He showed an interest in going outside this afternoon, so I jumped on it. I wanted him to feel better so bad! While outside, he threw the baseball with his right hand and cried out. We started noticing that he was avoiding using his right arm for anything. We brought him in immediately, and Paul noticed a bump on his collarbone. Mike came over and seconded that he thought it was probably his clavicle. So off to the ER we go. Luckily, Mike knew of an ER that's not with a hospital and usually not very busy. We got there around 2 and by 2:20 had x-rays of his clavicle being seen by the doctor. He said it looked fine, so we were thinking it was just sore, when he said he thought he wanted to x-ray his arm. Here's the ugly...a fracture in each bone of his wrist. OH MY HEAVENS! They had to splint it, and we have to go get a cast put on tomorrow. He has this little sling to put it in, and it doesn't seem to bother him a bit. Actually, when we got home (around 3:30...yes, only 1 1/2 hours in the ER...let me know if you ever need the name of it...hopefully you won't) he played more and was happier than I'd say he's been the whole weekend. This picture doesn't show it though...it was when we first got home.

So now I feel like the worst mother ever. I'm trying hard not to blame myself, but I feel so bad. I think I would feel bad even if I had nothing to do with it...I think that's just part of being a mommy! Thanks for listening...this is like therapy...getting it all out there!
