Sleeping Like A Baby!

Paul David fell asleep on the way home (and should have with only a 30 minute nap!). Here's his progression through various sleeping arrangements:

Daddy's Arms

With Lovey in the Pack and Play

With Lovey in our bed...from midnight on. He's a pretty bad bedmate, too. At one point, I woke to find Paul barely hanging on the edge of the bed...Paul David was horizontal with his feet in Paul's back! I bet I moved him back vertically four times during the night!

So, so sweet though!

Sea World Part 1

Welcome to Sea World! We encountered this...animal on our way in. I have no idea what it was, but we had to get a picture with him!
Our first stop was Dolphin Cove. A friend of a friend had told us to do this first while the dolphins were still hungry. Best advice ever. It was the neatest thing! The dolphins were so hungry that they came right up to you and you could pet them. Paul David wouldn't touch one, but I did...so cool! He just kept saying "FISH" about a million times. He was SSOOO excited and didn't want to leave them when we put him back in the stroller. We kept saying, oh, there's so many more fish to see!

It looks like he wanted to pet it, but when I lifted him to do it, he said, "NO"

Here's Paul David and me in the Splash Zone...another must do in Sea World...just to keep yourself cool! Paul and I loved it...Paul David, not so much! He hated the water splashing, shooting, pelting, showering, everything about it! I made him get wet with me, though, to keep cool!

Sea World Part 2

Daddy and Paul David in the Splash Area

Posing with Shamu before the Believe Show starring...you guessed it...SHAMU!

Shamu with his trainer. They were so cute together!

Shamu lifting the trainer in the air. It's hard to see, but she's on his nose.

Sea World Part 3

This was the coolest part (no pun intented) of the Believe Show...when all 4 splashed the crowd with their tails. That's just some serious training that they can all do that at once.
Me and Paul David with Penny the Penguin
Daddy and Paul David at the Penguin Attraction. The penguins kept diving and swimming while we were watching them, so Paul David kept calling them fish. We kepts saying, no, not fish, penguins. Finally, at this exhibit, some of them were laying down like ducks. So Paul David said, "Quack!" We didn't really correct him that time...hey, at least he's in the bird family now!
Washing off all the sunscreen and Yuck with a nice refreshing bath! Paul David LOVED being in the hotels. He went crazy both times we got into our new room. He was on and off the bed, the couch, in and out of the bathroom. Just insane, while we were just wanting to lay down and rest! It was funny...Paul said that it was like there was kid catnip in the rooms!

We had an unbelievable time! We were going to go to a San Antonio Missions game, too, but decided just to go back to the hotel and let Paul David go to bed early. We were all pretty tired. He went to sleep around 7:30 and didn't wake up until 7:20 this morning. I have to say that the whole time we were gone, Paul David didn't take but two 30 minute naps, but you really could never tell it. He was great. He was excited about everything we did and seemed to really enjoy himself everywhere. I hope this is how our future vacations will be...fun and exciting!

I Have A...

BLUEBERRY THIEF
I think I've figured out who it is, though!

He knows where to find them and how to get them!

Then, he says, "MMMM"

"Yea, I know I'm so cute that she'll let me steal all the blueberries I want!"

Can You Believe This?

We had a little conversation with a man this morning that I wanted to write down! Please don't get too upset that he may have hurt your Little Paul David's feelings...because it was more mine than his. Paul David still doesn't understand much!

So we're walking at the hospital like we do most mornings, and there are regulars there that we say hi to each morning. So, there's this one particular couple that walk holding hands...aww sweet, you think. We're at the fish tank, which is the highlight of Paul David's stroller ride each time we pass, but also sometimes a distress when we leave it at times. This was our first lap by it, and Paul David didn't want to leave, and started to cry. This little man I was talking about says, "She's not happy today!" (I'm so over him being called a girl...I know his hair is longer than most boys...but when his curls are curly, it is soooo cute, and when it is frizzy, it's distressing, but usually gets curly and cute soon enough!) This morning it was a big out of control! So I say, "No, he's just unhappy that we're leaving the fish tank!"

The man says, "Oh, it's a he. Well, he's probably crying to go to the Barber!" WHAT?????? Why would he ever say that? He doesn't know us...I just don't understand what gives people the right to say stuff like that!

So, here's are lesson today...don't say stuff like that to moms of little boys with adorable curly, long hair. We love their hair too much to cut it!

Astros Game

Here are the promised pictures from the Astros Game Friday Night!

I loved this picture when I saw it. That expression is priceless!
Here is Paul David and Daddy sitting on the bench with Craig Biggio and Carlos Lee! He wouldn't smile to save his life! Little Toot!
Yay! Paul David caught the home run ball!
Before the fireworks, I took this picture! They had moved the train to the end so they could open the roof and shoot the fireworks off from the tracks. Paul David was concentrating on that train and saying, "Where'd the train go?"
He did great with the fireworks this time. I told him before they started shooting them off that it was going to be loud, but really pretty. He didn't need to cry or scream because we would keep him safe! Paul and I had already agreed just to get out of there if he started screaming. Fortunately he just sat in my lap with Lovey and sucked his thumb through the whole thing!

Swimming!

These were some of my pictures of Paul David before and after his swim on Wednesday...the first swim of the Summer!
It was our celebration party for getting his cast off and Aunt Carol's last day of school!

He LOVES this bike helmet, eventhough it frustrates him to no end!

Happy Birthday, Papa!

ON THIS DAY IN OUR HISTORY-June 9th

1952-My daddy was born! I'm sure his birth was a celebration for his sisters! My dad has lots of sisters and when your around them for any length of time, you can tell they still see him as the baby brother! We've had so much fun with my daddy over the years, and now we're still having fun with him as Papa! Daddy was always taking us on great adventures in the truck or riding horses. When we were in junior high, we played lots of basketball games together or just threw the frisbee to one another in the yard! Now, he plays trains, baseball, and blows up the bouncy thing for our kids! He's always the best daddy, and now he's the best Papa! Happy Birthday!

Saturday Fun!

We have had a really fun weekend! Last night, we went to the Astros game and had awesome seats. We stayed for the Friday Night Fireworks Show which is always amazing. I'll post some pictures of the game tomorrow or Monday.
Today, my parents came in town, so we've had a fun filled Saturday! We swam this evening and ate at Grammy and Paw Paw's house. I'll post some of those pictures soon, too!

Now for the reason I'm posting tonight:

ON THIS DAY IN OUR HISTORY---June 8th:
1996-My friend Krystal invited me to go with her and her boyfriend Jason to a Texas Rangers Game with them. Oh, how fun! Jason called me before we went to let me in on a little surprise! He was going to surprise Krystal with her engagement ring! AAAHHH, so exciting...they were already officially engaged, but didn't have the ring yet...it was on order. Jason had gotten the ring early, so it would be a total surprise to Krystal. So, during some inning, Jason goes to get food. He brings back this bucket of popcorn and the ring is in it! Krystal screamed is all I remember. Then it was chaos with me taking pictures! I do remember that the lady behind us said, "Hey honey, go get me some of that popcorn!"

So here I am with the happy couple! I had some others, but they were mostly of Krystal and Jason kissing!

Krystal and Jason have been married almost 12 years now, and still are as happy as they are in this picture! Krystal and I are still great friends, too! We talk all the time and see each other less than we'd like, but still when we can! Great friends are hard to find, but our friendship has kept on going!
Now, not to take anything away from all that, but this was also my first Major League Baseball Game! This was right around the time I started watching the Braves on TBS when I babysat. Oh, if I'd only known the fan I'd become, I may have paid a little more attention to the game that night...probably not though with all the anticipation and then celebration!
