The week before Spring Break, Paul took off the whole week, so we took the boys to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Tammy and her kids went, too, so it was a fun field trip for everyone!
Our first stop was the bull fighter's barrel:
And the Barrel Racer's Barrel:
Once inside, we saw a lot of the animals at the AgVenture area.
The Longhorn is one of our favorites to see!
Some baby pigs were born while we were there, too, and we watched that from far away on a tv screen. It was really cool (for me), but it led to a lot of questions from the older set of kids that I was prepared to answer:)
Tammy also introduced us to the penny press machines. Really, we didn't need introduced to them...I've seen them before and done them a couple of times, but she mentioned that she and Bill started a "collection" when they first got married and have a Penny Passport where they add to them. Well, we love a good collection of something, so we let the boys each do one!
Once outside in the beautiful sunshine (it was a gorgeous day by the way), we headed to Fun on the Farm, another one of our favorite areas!
Pretending to plant fake seeds to then receive a fake vegetable...fun:
Driving the tractor:
Milking the Cow:
Making Corn Kernel Angels:
Who's that Gangsta:
Everyone with their Farm products:
We made it to the Pig Races in the late afternoon, and there was hardly anyone there! It was awesome!
Leo even got to go up to the front and cheer...his pig lost though...bummer!
Tammy and the kids left, but we stayed for the real Rodeo that night.
The boys were mesmerized!
Judson's class had Rodeo Day on Tuesday before we went to the Rodeo, but he was sick, so he didn't get to go. On Thursday, he came home with this ADORABLE shirt that he was supposed to wear on Tuesday! He loves wearing his Rodeo Shirt!
Yay for the Houston Rodeo!
